Which Aspects Of Their Life Inspired You?
Healing from a loss takes a great deal of energy. It may seem overwhelming or confusing and it needs to be spread over time. There are some circumstances in which the desire to be fully alive yourself may be dim. At times that may feel like a lack of motivation or enthusiasm, while at its most extreme it may include thoughts of futility and despair. If your desire to stop your pain and suffering develops into ideas about ending your life, it’s time to reach out to a crisis phone service and make an appointment with your doctor. The bereaved have been deprived of a loved one and are mourning for their loss. This may begin in the days following the death, including the funeral, but it may also continue for an extended time and it is often accompanied by a withdrawal from regular life. Mourning is also marked by a number of religious traditions and practises. All of this cultural expression signifies that the grief we experience with the loss of a loved one is a profound and challenging part of human existence. In grief, the energy of the earthstar chakra may be reduced as we feel a sense of dislocation and disconnection. Reconnect with the energies of those loved ones who have passed previously. Which aspects of their lives inspire you? Which patterns in your family might now be released? As you do this exercise, consciously ground yourself in the here and now.
Just Another Word For Pain
Ask yourself, as part of your meditation or prayer, what your inner wisdom wants to tell you. Sense into and allow your intuition to respond. Play with it in your imagination until you have the perfect shade for you. Allow that to fill every corner of your mind, every part of your body, especially the space beneath your feet and your connection with the earth. Consciously stream that earthstar energy up from the earth and into your body and your mind. Wear brown and black clothing or accessories to remind yourself of the deep need for connection and the energy of the earth. Connect yourself with that energy as you heal. Use your breath to consciously access your earthstar chakra, breathing deeply from that space and drawing on the powerful energy of earth life and connection. It calls us to connect with the dynamic energy of the earth as we heal. Repeat some of these affirmations that confirm your sense of groundedness and security, or add your own. Mother Nature holds me. I am at home with Mother Earth. Blue Turns To Grey
Reinforce each affirmation by repeating it or saying And so, it is. Honour this time you have given yourself. Gently push away all those things that will wait until later. Write them down, if it will assist you, and set the list aside. Ground yourself by noticing your body, feet on the floor, chair holding you, and air moving against your skin. Run your mind’s eye over places on earth that have significance for you. Choose the five that best represent your connection with earth. Think about each one and what those places do for you. Jot down your thoughts about each one. Label and colour one triangular point of the star for each of your special places, leaving a blank space in the centre of the star. Thinking about the power of all of those places in your life, can you capture it in two or three words? Write those words in the centre of your star. Sit with the words on your own star for a few moments and then take some deep cleansing breaths. Turn The Lights Out When You Leave
You can sit or lie for this meditation. Give yourself permission to step out from life for a while. Bring your awareness to your heart, placing your hands on your heart centre. Your life force is connecting with the life force of Mother Earth and it begins to join together in one powerful stream of energy. Sense and receive the power and richness of the earth that sustains all living things. In your mind’s eye, rest there for a while. When you are ready, draw on the energy of your earthstar chakra to ground and balance yourself. Absorb that energy back into your body, allowing it to fill your feet and legs, your torso and your heart, your arms and hands, your throat and face. When the meditation is complete, gently move your limbs and bring your awareness back into the room. Draw on your connections with the earth as you return to your day. I am deeply connected to Mother Earth. I am nourished by her special places. The word Gaia has Greek origins and means earth. In modern times Gaia is both the earth and its systems, as well as the spirit of the earth. All aspects of the whole living planet are intertwined and interdependent. Grief can draw us away from the spirit of Gaia and we can instead feel isolated and disconnected from other living things. The connections that gave our lives meaning have been ruptured and our spirits can suffer or shrink. We can support our healing if we intentionally connect to the earth. In Australia we are privileged to share the land with the oldest living civilization on the planet. Our first peoples have a unique relationship with the earth and country, one that shapes and expresses identity, spirituality, and relationships. Such healing can help us recover a sense of self. To assist in your healing from grief, you might add to your days some regular connection with Gaia through some movement practises. The movement gives us direct feedback about our gait, our balance, our posture, or our place in space. It can remind us that we are truly alive, that we can ground ourselves and move forward, finding our balance in each step. Together these actions can support a kind of meditation too. This practise emerged in Japan, partly in response to city living and more recently as an antidote to technology.
